Although no Christian can achieve all of these lofty goals perfectly while in the flesh, they are a good measure of our growth in the narrow way.
(1) Spiritual hunger (Matthew 5:6).
(2) Inner distaste for those things condemned of God (James 4:4).
(3) Conscious effort to transform oneself (Romans 12:1-2).
(4) Compulsion to share God’s truth with others (Isaiah 61:1).
(5) Providential experiences (Romans 8:28).
(6) Love fellowship with Christ and his brethren (1 Corinthians 1:9).
(7) Intensely interested in all God’s truths (1 Corinthians 2:14, Hebrews 5:13, 14).
(8) Sacrifice by giving to others even at cost of suffering (John 3:16-18, Philippians 2:3, 4).
(9) Daily communion with God (1 Thessalonians 5:17).
(10) Strong desire to do the will of God (Psalm 40:8).
(11) Daily focus on spiritual activities (Romans 8:6, Colossians 3:1-3).
(12) Want others to know God has entered life (Acts 20:20).
(13) Seek validation of truth through study (2 Timothy 2:15).
(14) Welcome discipline from God (Hebrews 12:6).
(15) Unable to willingly sin against God’s laws (1 John 5:18).
(16) Apply God’s principles wherever possible (1 Corinthians 3:10-11, 2 Peter 1:5-11).
(17) Work to develop talents (1 Corinthians 12:4-11).
(18) Strong desire for fellowship with other spirit begotten ones (Hebrews 10:24, 25).
